Don’t Be Afraid of the Scale!

Updated: Jan 30, 2023

Do you ever get anxious when it's time to step on the scale? Many of us do, but it's important to remember that the scale is just one tool to measure your progress towards your health and fitness goals. You shouldn't be afraid of the scale and here's why.

First, the scale doesn't tell the whole story. The number that it spits out doesn't take into account things like muscle mass and body fat percentage. So, a person who is very muscular might weigh more than someone of the same height and build who isn't as muscular, and the scale won't be able to tell the difference.

Second, the scale shouldn't be your only measure of progress. Even if you are trying to lose weight, there are other things you should be tracking, such as how your clothes fit, how you feel, and how much energy you have. These things can give you a better sense of progress than just the number on the scale.

Finally, it's important to remember that the scale can fluctuate. You might step on the scale one day and see a number that's higher or lower than you expected. This doesn't mean you've failed or succeeded. It's just a moment in time, and it doesn't define your progress

The bottom line is that the scale is just one tool. It can be helpful, but it shouldn't be the sole measure of your success. So, don't be afraid of the scale. Instead, focus on all the other aspects of your progress and use the scale as one piece of the puzzle.
